Well I haven't blogged in awhile so I thought I would fill you in on what a typical week looks like in my household. This one is a little crazier then usual but none the less it's always quite crazy, between the Cafe, children, husband, housework and the river flooding in my back yard! The… MORE

About this Cook
I am a mother to two beautiful boys, who at least try everything I put in front of them to eat. I live in a small town in the middle of freezing cold Manitoba. I have been cooking since I was a child, and LOVE it.
My favorite things to cook
Anything and Everything
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Christmas I get to together with my uncle, and grandfather and make a fruit cake that has been handed down for generations.
My cooking triumphs
I just started up a small restaurant and cook for 20-50 people a day and have not had any complaints!
My cooking tragedies
Baking a cake at the age of 12, I took it out of the oven and thought that you had to turn it over right away to cool it. Well I flipped it on top of my hand, so I threw it up and it hit the ceiling. Well I also found out that it was not cooked through and had cake dripping all over the place. My mom came home as I was cleaning up the mess, she was laughing so hard that she couldn't get mad at me. Thank Goodness!

Spicy Chicken Rice Soup
This is a good base recipe with endless possibilities. I added some frozen corn, chili powder and cayenne pepper. Black beans would also be a nice addition.

Banana Pudding IV
The rating says it all. I made them in individual bowls. I put down a wafer then sliced bananas, pudding, cool whip and topped it with another wafer.

Sky High Yorkshire Pudding
This is a great recipe for beginners. They were sky high and I was told these were the best Yorkshires that my family has ever had. I too added salt and the ingredients need to be at room temp, otherwise a great recipe!
