Well I haven't blogged in awhile so I thought I would fill you in on what a typical week looks like in my household. This one is a little crazier then usual but none the less it's always quite crazy, between the Cafe, children, husband, housework and the river flooding in my back yard!
The cafe has had a great week, new people are coming in and new people from last week have returned : ) I have not had any complaints to date and a large part of that is due to AR and you guys at AR! So THANK YOU all so much for putting up with my constant requests and questions a large part of the success has been because of this site and the helpful people on here.
Children well I have decided to join the worst mothers club, Why you may ask? Well I have a beautiful 8 yr old son who had a tooth ache. Seems harmless right, WRONG. I let my children go hog wild on treats at 2 holidays, Easter and Halloween I figure if I let them eat as much as they want that it goes away faster which means less fighting over eating healthy. No candy in the house they have no choice but to eat what I buy for them. So he is complaining on Easter Sunday at bedtime that his tooth hurts, I tell him to go brush his teeth and hop in bed I'm not buying it as you had a friend over all day and ate a ton of chocolate and now your tooth hurts. My bad he wakes up at 3 a.m. crying okay now I believe you, so I gave him some advil and he goes back to bed, I get up and he doesn't say much about it so I figured it must not have been to serious. Well I go to work and he stays home with dad, so I don't hear anything all day about this tooth ache until I get home.
Well I get home at 2:00, my husband informs me that he has been throwing up all day and now his face has started to swell. Well I panic and demand that he take him to the hospital immediately. So off they went to the hospital. Turns out he had a abysses tooth? Not sure my husband doesn't give a lot of detail when it comes to important thing. Tuesday he goes to his dentist where they proceeded to pull out his tooth, but it wouldn't freeze properly because of the infection. So I have traumatized my son from the dentist, as he put it " You said it would HURT but not that MUCH " So the tooth fairy left him $20 for pain and suffering.
The next two topics the husband and housework are the same old, same old
The next is the river. Well I live on a small river (La Salle) which attaches to the Red river further south. This is the 3rd year we've been here and it's the highest we have ever seen it, it has now come up to the Man Hut, my hubbys domain in the summer and has started to flood my back yard. I have banned the kids from going back there and it smells horrible! We had to sand bag along the deck of the hut and hope that it has crested if not, I lose my house to my husband this summer : (
I will post some pictures for you guys, however you won't be able to see the difference until I take some more when the river has returned to normal.
An update on the river, it has now started to flood the "Man Hut" it came over the deck this morning 04/17/09. So I hope that the sand bags do there job and keep the water out of the hut : (
So this is a typical week in the house of the HappyCooker. Things are always crazy or someone is always sick or hurt but I guess that what happens when you live in a house full of boys!
