I often use Allrecipes as inspiration but rarely follow recipes, usually for lack of the required ingedients.
My favorite things to cook
Bread. After hearing I'd acquired a bread machine, my mom gave me a huge bucket of hard red wheat and a small electric grinder. Since then I've been trying to perfect whole grain bread. I have a problem though: it's too much fun to change the recipes. It doesn't help either that I still don't have proper measuring devices. Getting better every time.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Been making pancakes since I could hold a spatula. Lucky they are one of my fiance's favorite foods, too.
My cooking triumphs
Savory multigrain bread, roasted rosemary potato wedges, tomato-mushroom stromboli, fried rice, curry, vegetarian bean soup, fried egg tacos...
My cooking tragedies
My first and only time (so far) making meringue cookies, dark chocolate flavored: The batter was awfully soupy so I distributed it into a muffin pan and tried baking it. Came out like charcoal and ruined the pan.
