About this Cook
I a 24 year-old law student, I don't have much time to cook but when I do I always enjoy it! I also love traveling and trying new food from different parts of the world, I have spent time in Spain and Italy and am especially fond of all things Mediterranean.
My favorite things to cook
Interesting sauces, rich decadent deserts, and anything that involves wine.
My favorite family cooking traditions
This Christmas we started making home-made Bailey's with Irish Whiskey, and I tried an Italian pine nut cookie recipe that I am hoping to establish as a tradition.
My cooking triumphs
Just pulled off my first Thanksgiving turkey this year that I basted with butter, garlic & herbs, stuffed with the awesome cranberry apple and sausage stuffing recipe I found on this site. It was glorious.
My cooking tragedies
They almost always involve rice. I suck at rice. I hate buying anything that comes in a box ready to heat & eat, including any kind of minute rice, but when I attempt to make rice from scratch the texture never comes out right. I also made a disastrous desert once that called for Grand Marnier, and I kind of overdid it with the liquor...

Winter Fruit Salad with Lemon Poppyseed Dressing
This was a great starter salad for Christmas dinner. The dressing had a great flavor, my only recommendation would be to make the dressing slightly thicker by adding a little less oil and lemon juice.

Romaine and Mandarin Orange Salad with Poppy Seed Dressing
I really like this recipe, I toasted the almonds with some brown sugar and butter to add some more crunchiness and used 1/3 cup less sugar in the dressing. Thanks for sharing!

Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing
So great. I didn't have turkey stock but I used butter and it was very tasty.
