About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy baking just about anything. I also love to make recipes that my family and my husband's family passes down to me.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Baking and decorating sugar cookies with my family for Christmas.
My cooking triumphs
I recently made shrimp dumplings. My husband thought they were really good.
My cooking tragedies
I made a Barbie doll cake for my daughter's birthday. Her skirt came out really tall and I forgot to put a wooden skewer or something to hold the layers together. The whole cake fell over in the middle of the party.

Chewiest Brownies
Very fudgy and rich. A few drawbacks: bakes into a thin brownie and if you cook it even two or three minutes too long, the top and edges become very dry and crunchy.

Marinated Grilled Shrimp
The tomato and vinegar combo give the shrimp a sweet kick while the basil adds another layer of flavor. Very nice!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings
Fantastic recipe! With a little seasoning as others have suggested (seasoning salt, pepper, and poultry seasoning) the flavor came out wonderful! I did need to add about one and half cups of chicken broth because it was little too thick for me. The dumplings were also really good. I added those during the last 45 minutes just to make sure they were fully cooked. I was surprised by how the cooked biscuit dough's texture was so similar to a real dumpling. I'll make this again!
