Cornish Game Hens with Garlic and Rosemary

Great flavor! Tender and juicy. Stuffed the hens w/large slices of onion, garlic cloves and lots of spices. Basted every 10 minutes for last 30 minutes of cooking time. Used more wine & more chicken broth. Didn't use a lot of rosemary as I don't "love" it's flavor instead used a mixture of bread dipping spices. Served w/roasted vegetables and Grandma Ople's Apple Pie from this site. A great combination.

Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

I have made this probably 8 times. Excellent!!! Makes a beautiful pie that tastes amazing. I coated apples w/ about 3/4 of the syrup mixture and used the other 1/4 on the top. Need to put a cookie sheet under the pie plate b/c some of the sugary syrup does come out of the pie. Wonderful flavor and texture. Make sure to cook about 10 minutes longer or the apples may not be soft enough depending on your preference.

Chocolate Trifle

Amazing!!! Made for X-Mas Eve & everyone loved it! Some said that it was the best they ever had. Followed other suggestions and used french vanilla cool whip and choc cool whip instead of the reg flavor. Crushed up 2 to 3 Heath bars and put in between layers. Added a great crunch! Could put 4 to 5 reg sized bars depending on preference to the taste of Heath. Would definately make again!
