BBQ Glazed Homemade Meatballs

Reviewed: May 5, 2009
I pre-made these in the oven for a pot luck and then stuck them (with extra sauce) in a crock pot to take with me. Everyone loved them. Would have been great just out of the oven, but were also good served out of a crock pot. Very good to put on a roll with a little coleslaw to make a mini-meatball sandwich.

Sugar Cookie Glaze

Reviewed: May 5, 2009
I good recipe for sugar cookie frosting. Add the water very slowly. If you use a flavoring or an exract, add that first, then the water. Be careful not to add to much liquid and make the frosting runny. I've also used this recipe as a glaze for several pound cakes. It will harden overnight if. Just make sure whatever you put it on is completely cooled.

Cream Cheese Frosting II

I've used this recipe on the best rolled sugar cookies recipe from the sight a couple of times. A huge hit every time. The frosting will harden overnight and will last on the counter for about a week.

Cherry Pound Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2009
Yummy moist pound cake. I added canned cherries (not pie filling, just cherries) and almond extract. Then, I made a simple powdered sugar, almond extract and milk glaze to pour over the top after it cooled. I got rave reviews. However, it only needs to be baked for about an hour, maybe less, not the 80 minutes claimed. ...I just made it again. I think 45 minutes is plenty.

New York Cheesecake III

Very, very good cheesecake. But I need to figure out how to prevent splitting. Also, the volume of batter created in this recipe does not fit into a standard cheescake pan. I had to make a few mini cheesecakes in addition to the big one in order to use it all up.

Butterscotch Bread Pudding

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2009
Really yummy. Everyone who tried it claimed it was the best bread budding they had ever had. I used half butterscotch and half white chocolate chips. I also used half Panettone bread that was left over from Christmas. I extended the bake time by 1/2 hour at least.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2009
These cookies made me the talk of the town. By far the best recipe for sugar cookies I've tried. I made mine for a Christmas party and added a twist. I split the dough and mixed one half with chopped dates and almond slices, rolled out and cut with cookie cutters, baked and iced with an almond cream cheese frosting. For the other half of the dough I mixed in crumbled candy canes, then shaped the dough into candy cane shapes, baked and sprinkled with powdered sugar. Both were a hit. The candy cane cookies with the crowd favorite. For the basic recipe, I'd say that refrigerating overnight makes a huge difference. Also, don't overbake. I baked mine for exactly 8 minutes even though they did not look completely done. When they cooled, they were just the right density. "Perfectly soft."
