I am married, work full-time and go to school part-time so I need quick meals often. I am a ceramic artist and am working on my degree in Ceramics and Anthropology.
My favorite things to cook
Ohhhh so many things, let's see, pizza (homemade), anything baking, truffles and candies, pasta, lamb, chicken chile verde, and a whole lot more.
My favorite family cooking traditions
When my Grandma was alive we were always in the kitchen at Christmas and her specialty was Plum Puddings, steamed. Then she would soak in either rum, homemade dandelion wine, or other spirits. I keep up the cookies, candies and such, but haven't found time to do the puddings which saddens me a little.
My cooking triumphs
The first time I made pork chile verde for my hubby (his favorite family dish).
My cooking tragedies
The first time I cooked a turkey for thanksgiving meal. I did what my nana used to do and used a paper bag soaked in water, well halfway through cooking the turkey the bag caught on fire and I thought the turkey was totally ruined. It was edible, but not great, had an interesting smoky flavor to it.
