Bill's Sausage Gravy
This was wonderful. I followed the directions exactly. It took longer to thicken up then I expected, but the results were perfect! Thanks for the great recipe.

Carla's Fruit Dip
This was wonderful! I did use a whole block of cream cheese. I wanted to just eat it with a spoon. I have never seen my family eat so much fruit!

Cake Mixes from Scratch and Variations
I have tried making this recipe twice now. I have been unhappy with the results both times. I first tried the chocolate cake. It came out a sort of beige color and was very bland and dry. No one in my family even recognized that it was supposed to be chocolate. I next tried the yellow cake and it tastes just like corn bread. I love corn bread, but not with chocolate frosting! I followed the recipe exactly with the yellow cake and substituted oil for the shortening with the chocolate. It was easy to make and it did rise ok, that's the only reason I'm giving it two stars. I think I’m going to have to keep looking for a scratch cake recipe.
