I have been cooking for 35 years and love it more and more each year.I especially love the holidays where I prepare gift trays as gifts and also to sell. I have many years of collecting recipes. I am a self taught cook and my mentor was my grandmother. I miss her very much at the holidays because that was our time of sharing and cooking. I thank God he chose her just for me! I LOVES my Hot Wings and I also love making English Toffee, breads, cookies, pad thai, mexican food and especially soulfood and southern food. Paula Deen is my hero! Gotta love her! I still make homemade bread from scratch and put them in Folgers coffee cans to bake. My ex-mother in law was from Germany and another mentor of mine. She was a blessing also! I took 1st place in a Chili cook-off and won $100.00.I have relied on my cooking talents as extra income at the holidays selling my holiday trays filled with candies, breads, bars, breads and cookies. My very first year of marriage I had invited my husband's aunt and uncle over for dinner. I had prepared a complete traditional turkey dinner. The table and food looked beautiful until we carved the turkey and it broke my electric carving knife because it was still frozen solid inside. LOL It still makes me laugh but at the time I cried.......Oh well!I now use a pop up timer and thermometer.
