About this Cook
I'm an old woman who is trying to change my life with wise choices and having a hard time. I'm tired of being fat so I had Lap-Band surgery lost 47 pounds and had the earge to join a gym only aftr 2 visits had a heart attack. I have had trouble with very High Blood Pressure to get on a medication that is a blood thinner that is very dangerious and I have to be careful of every thing that I do. What a mess. So am I depressed... no but constantly confused about my every move.
My favorite things to cook
I like Stir-fry cause it is the best leftovers way to cook and it is fun.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I don't have any anymore. I got away from cooking when I had to cut back on sault due to Hypertension. When I cut back on sweets there was nothing left to cook if you wanted flavor in your food so cooking became a chore that was boring and uneventful. purchasing food became a thing that has to be done cause you have to eat to live and flavor was something that your grandmother used to put in her food to make it (taste) good and that was all taken away when healthy cooking came into my life.I can not have more than 1200 calories per day and thus Why should I cook when there are so many places out there that make the food cheaper than I can make it. I don't like brown rice cause it taste like no flavor corn. White or yellow corn has more flavor than brown rice and I love white rice but the nutrition is not there for white rice. I am 58 years old and just found out how to cook rice. boit the water first and then add the rice. I remember have to wash the rice first then cooking it. That is
My cooking triumphs
Made rice without burning it for the first time in years. I always thought that I knew how to cook rice until I followed the instructions. Who would-of thunk!
My cooking tragedies
My grandmother use to make the best dinner rolls that would melt in you mouth but every time that I have made then it has been a new experience. the scaulded milki and yeast don't get along for me and caused trouble so I end up with cooked dough or pound cake.
