I have been looking for the 'perfect' oatmeal cookie for years. The first time I made these, I had found it. The second batch...one week later, that's how good they are...I used two sticks of margarine instead of the butter and Crisco. They did not work. Still tated good, but the texture was all wrong. For a real treat, make just like the directions. Wonderful.

Good for quick, cheap dinner. Too much cholesterol for me, but my teenagers wolfed it down.

I think this must be totally defendant on the stove. Mine were burnt to a crisp. I thought I might have finally found a no-fail roast method. I was sadly mistaken.
