Roast Sticky Chicken-Rotisserie Style

I make this all the time now! It is better than most Sangrias I've had in restaurants. The longer it is in the fridge the better. I'll add the run just before serving to ensure the fruit only takes up the wine. Your friends will be asking you for the recipe!

French Baguettes

Beer Batter Fish Made Great

This was very nice and not at all greasy. We used fresh wild halibut...and it was great. I followed others suggestion to flour the fillets first and it worked great keeping the batter on the fish. I've never 'deep fried' fish before though so I'd have liked some indication as to how long a fillet should be cooked for. Luckily I got it right...but now forget how long I cooked them for!

Marinated Turkey Breast

This was EXCELLENT! I ended up merinading the breast for 2 days (life happens!) before grilling it. I basted it as it grilled. It was a hit with the whole family and now replaces turkey from the deli! Thank you for the recipe!

Potato Leek Soup III

This was so simple and is SO VERY good! When I got where you add the potatoes...I realized it did not say to add 4 but 4 cups...who does that?! which hung me up for a bit...no way I was going to put the potatoes in water in a measuring cup to find 4 cups...so I just eye balled it (about 4 medium potatoes). This is an excellent recipe, thank you so very much Julie for sharing it! BTW, I used half the butter and ALL the cream!

French Onion Soup Gratinee

Jersey Tomato, you have made me a very happy girl! I followed the recipe to a T (but had only cream balsamic so reduced it to 1/2 TBSP...next time I'll reduce it to only 1 TSP or make sure I have balsamic vinegar in the house). This is by far the best French Onion soup I've had. Thank you so very much for sharing!!!

PHILADELPHIA New York Cheesecake III

This was good and perhaps could have gotten more stars but I made it with low fat cream cheese. I round it was not smooth enough texture wise nor did it melt in my mouth. I'm picky though...everyone else loved it. I'll keep looking.

Italian Sausage and Peppers with Penne

I used homemade tomatoe sauce...plan was to make pizza but realized we'd run out of cheese...for this recipe. I was quite surprised at how good this dish was. It was quick and simple but I was not expecting much. Quite flavourful! We used hot Italian sausage so it had quite a kick. Kids (3 and 5) loved it!

Simple Sloppy Joes

This was so disappointing for us! With all the rave reviews we got quite excited about it. Next time we will reduce the sugar by half...if still too sweet, then we will reduce more; and we will leave out the katchup completely! This recipe makes for a VERY high sugar content sloppy joe (sugar, tomatoe sauce in a can...we used my homemade with very little sugar...and katchup). Kid loved it...'tastes like katchup'! Guess what her favorite 'food' is?

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

The crust was great and easy to make and will be the go to crust for us. However, the dough did not double in size when left to rise. Other reviewers have said it make a great deep-dish crust for them but that was not my experience. The crust was excellent but thin crust. I made 2 medium pies with it. I am making it again tonight but will make a double batch and freeze half for another day.

Beignets

This recipe is now a family tradition for xmas morning! Of course...it is going to be made way more often than once a year...I'd be hard pressed to pick out which was Cafe Du Monde's (fresh in the cafe) and which was this recipe in a taste test. There is a STEP MISSING from the recipe and it is crucial!! After you have allowed the dough to rise punch out the dough flatten and then allow to rise a SECOND time...only needs to be for an hour. This will ensure the beignets are full and fluffy inside and not flat and well...not fluffy inside. Cheers, Dane

Caribbean Grilled Crab Cakes

These crab cakes were OUTSTANDING!! As another member wrote: 'the best crab cakes I've ever had'. The mango salso was excellent and a complete surprise. So freakin' fresh! Love love love your recipe and will make for years to come. Cheers, Dane
