About this Cook
I am a nearly 30 yr old stay at home mom. I am a southern girl with Italian and Irish roots, so the love of food is very natural for me. I have worked for a 5 star restaurant in Northern Virginia, and plan to return to work for a finer dining restaurant in the near future. I was also a pizza chef for 3 yrs, so doughs are very easy for me to work with. (I love my bread & pasta machine!) I love to make homemade high end candies and desserts as gifts. Comfort foods are my all time favorite, but staying fit keeps me from indulging as much as I would like.
My favorite things to cook
Comfort foods, breakfast, desserts, candy making, pastas, breads.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Homemade truffles at the winter holidays.
My cooking triumphs
Baklava for gifts one year 30 people. Truffle trays, all hand rolled. Omelet station chef for 5 star Sunday brunch.
My cooking tragedies
Wow many, especially when my son was very young or when I was a novice in the kitchen. Many ruined souffles. Jerk chicken so hot in was not edible. Rubbery hard hand made noodles. Burnt things galore! Raw centers in my baked chicken at a dinner party. And my all time worst ever mess has got to be when I broke a full crock pot of chili, dumping 2 qts of beans meat & sauce, or the time I left a walk in freezer door open at work ruining nearly $4500 worth of dough and cheese.

Chocolate Chip Bread II
The chocolate chips really do need to be frozen. I also suggest that you add the chips at the last minute of the stir in stage. In my bread maker the chips melted before it baked the first time I made this. I then added the chips in right before it started the rise cycle and it worked great.
