I'm a grandmother, recently moved south to build a family home with mother-in-lawl, grandkids, daughter and son-in-law, son and husband. A family compound, so to speak. Love helping out as much as possible. I love to bake more than cook, but I love all kinds of food and love to try most new recipes, as well as old favorites. My favorite meal is one pot...or a huge holiday meal. My daughter and I are carrying out a tradition of home made bread, sticky buns (caramel cinnamon rolls), periogies (from scratch). We also enjoy cooking from scratch vegetable soups, chilis, stir frys, etc. I have never entered a contest, but I am triumphant when my cakes and pies and most of my meals are gone in a day. There are 9 people in the house, but most of time the women get none because it's gone. I burned chili once, and the first time I tried to make pie crust I wound up throwing it away. But most things can be fixed and why cry over spilt milk? I learned how to make a nice flaky pie crust, and learned not to leave the chili on high!
