Today was warm. Not as warm as yesterday, but it was a day that we could be at the park with our friends. By the way warm here right now is 50+ degrees F. Ok so we met our friends at the park which is great and only slightly muddy. How is it possible that I come home more dirty thatn my 3 year old? He had a great time with his bff Jonathan and there was lots of running, jumping, sliding, swinging and screeching. It was also great for me to catch up with my bff Christine. It seems like time just runs away during certain times and I really have missed the talk times with another mom (SAHM). Here is my problem, her son is 7 months younger and is potty training and is happy about it. My son is 3+ and is not at all interested and is so verbal he can say NO in a lot of ways. GRRRR
I am looking forward to real spring-ness so he can run around naked and feel "things". I worry about this facet of development, but I can look back and see how other milestones were either worrysome or a Victory! It seems that things are either early or late. On schedule or not. Normal or challenged. mom or dad. WAIT thats me not him. sorry. I have so much to be thankful for that it is just these tiny things that creep up on me. My new manners training revolves around thanking the cook (me) for a meal and to help clean-up. I have been trying to train my husband to thank me for a meal for about 6 years (how long have we been married). My son gets it more than my hubbie. Start habits young! We saw a mom and daughter at the park and their situation so touched my heart, I can't stop thinking about them. Mom adopted 2 year old baby (name left out but very fitting) very recently from China. Baby W has had 1 surgery to prepare and has another big one in 2 weeks to correct a lip/mouth "owie". How amazing that this child is in the park here in Minnesota today. How amazing is her mom for making this journey to adopt this sweetpea and change her life and change her own life and change the lives of those whom she comes in contact with. Truly a BIG heart. I am glad I ran into this pair today, so I could be reminded of how our smallest contributors can have the most inpact. Hey! how much do you all love screeching children? I am now immune. Peace to all y'all, good luck! Linda
