This has to be the pie of the year! I was asked to bake this 4 times over the holiday and everyone just couldn't get enough.
I am an organic consumer so I opted to use only organic ingredients all the way down to the whipped cream. Which, by the way, whipped cream has to be the best thing added to this pie. It added the perfect amount of subtle sweetness.
Other than the whipped cream, the only thing I did different was add an egg white and teaspoon of sugar mixture to glaze the top of the pie for a golden crust. I did this before I put it in the oven.
