About this Cook
Hi! I'm a happily married mother of two energetic boys with healthy appetities. I'm always trying to find new and interesting recipes to keep my family from getting bored at meal time...granted, we have our favorites, but every once in awhile a change is needed. I'm a day care provider by day, biker mom with tattoos and all, socially. My children are my priority. I love to laugh, read, and sometimes just sit in silence (if you have kids, I'm sure you understand). I'm also a rooted Christian, practicing my beliefs daily.
My favorite things to cook
I LOVE TO BAKE! and I'm pretty good at it, too! Cookies and cakes especially. I love to cook fresh...whole wheat style. Whole wheat pastas with fresh marinara and fresh parmesean with fresh greens and toasty garlic bread...mmmm,mmmm. I love my mother-in-laws recipe for stuffed meatloaf, and my slow cooker pepper steak.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cookies Granny-Bird style...no mixers, just hand-y work! Mom's sloppy joes on Halloween
My cooking triumphs
Some intense fondue recipes...batters for frying with homemade mayonaise to dip fried veggies in...whew! Lots of sweat for that one! Marinated meats, fresh breads, and the perfect chocalate sauce (marshmallows is the secret! Yum!)
My cooking tragedies
Yea, quite a few of them. But, who's counting?

Molasses Sugar Cookies
These are awesome! First, they're simple and made for a great cooking project with my at-home day care. Secondly, the taste and texture exceeded my expectations...very rich and firm, but soft. Fantastic!

Paula's Bread Sticks
Awesome...here's my adaptation: No bread machine/Bread hook in mixer -dissolve yeast in water with 1 T of honey 5 minutes -used 2 cups all purpose flour -used 2 cups wheat -substituted sesame seeds with flax seeds allowed to rise for 30 minutes then "punched down and kneaded" until dough wasn't sticky anymore -seperated into 15 pieces....snake rolled and spiraled. Pressed into a cinnamon/sugar mixture. Whoala...healthy cinnamon rolls
