I've been married for 14 years and have a teenage daughter. I enjoy cooking, but after a full time day at work I need recipes that are quick, easy, and most of all cheep! I love cooking for my family and friends. My favorites things to cook are simple recipes that have loads of flavor. I'm known best for 'whipping a little something up'. I don't really have any family cooking traditions other than the usual Christmas cookies. As my daughter has become a teen I try to have more sit down meals with the family because our lives seem to be going in so many different directions...it's nice to have about 15 minutes of just us! For about a year & half I cooked dinner every Wednesday night for 50-75 people at church, and put together a few weekend brunch meeting meals. Every week it was a test to have it ready in time, have enough for everyone, and have at least one thing vegetarian. With God's help (and a few of my best friends) it always seemed to work out. Aside from drying out meat, picking the toughest steaks, burning cookies, or cooking bland food I've never had a real tragedy in the kitchen. Having said that, I'm expecting my next meal to be a total disaster now...Murphy's law.
