Kathy's Delicious Whole Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2009
Excellent! This is nearly identical to a recipe my mother-in-law created for chicken breasts. For just breasts, put them in a casserole, coat them with soysauce, drizzle generously with honey and sprinkle with your preferred amount of chopped garlic. Bake until done. Simple and brilliant!

Slaw-mmin' Wraps

Very tasty, healthy quick balanced meal. A little too much garlic in the bean spread. I also added some cider vinegar to the cabbage/chicken mix for acid. Very good!

Unbelievable Chicken

Very good...nice citrus/mustard flavor with the nice acid bite of vinegar. Couldn't grill because of rain and were perfect under the broiler. Will definitely make again!

Firecracker Grilled Alaska Salmon

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2009
This really is just as good as everyone raves. We used it on wild caught salmon...delicious!! Used it a few nights later on Tilapia just to see...the fish stood up to the marinade, but was not as strong sweet/savory taste. Good on tilapia, great on salmon! Thanks!!

Rumbleberry Crisp

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2009
Makes a very tasty apple/berry/rhubarb crisp, however, I felt there was too much sugar and cornstarch in the fruit mixture. It did not allow the natural flavors of the fruit to come through and tasted more like a pie filling.

We thought this dish was just ok--we weren't big fans. The flavor was a little strange to us.

VERY tasty! It is a great way to use leftover corned beef and tastes just like a reuben sandwich.

Irresistible Irish Soda Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2009
Really loved it. Nice and moist and cakey. If you don't like your soda bread this way you may not like it. We served it warm with butter for dessert on St. Patrick's Day. Loved it!! I used a cup of raisins and I also used an 8x8 glass pyrex dish (was afraid of what one reviewer said about it overflowing a bread pan). I baked it half way between 300 and 325 for 40 minutes--it was perfect!

Tasty, but pretty basic "open the can" kind of casserole.

Ham and Sweet Potato Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2009
Killer salad!! Nice blend of ingredients. I added 4 chopped green onions for a little kick (might use more next time to offset the sweetness even more). Used leftover spiral sliced ham which gave it a nice smokiness. My husband thought it was a little "different," so I can't give it 5 stars.

Tasty, but too sweet. Better for holiday meals than everyday ones in my opinion.

Peanut Butter Vegetable Chicken Soup

Excellent blend of flavors. Will make it again. A savory soup that gets better the longer the flavors mix in the leftovers.

Ham and Cheese Bowties

This was unbelievably delicious. I used some Swiss and Asiago cheese as well along with the colby/parmesan. I also added 3-4 chopped green onions for a little bit different flavor.

Sherry Bundt Cake

This is a good recipe for sherry cake. It was moist, but I found the cocoa/cinnamon/sugar mixture to add a very different flavor. I did not prefer it--I prefer the classic style.

Patty's Mom's Black Bean Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2009
This is such a simple and tasty recipe. Blending the black beans makes it distinctive. Without that I think it would be just another black bean soup. I used a hand blender in the pot and was done in minutes. I didn't have a hambone so I used beef stock concentrate and diced ham--was wonderful this way too. An extremely easy and economical soup. Will definitely make it again!

This was remarkably good. I had some mashed rutabaga's I had tried to make like mashed potatoes. We did not like them at all--so I salvaged the mashed rutabagas with this recipe. It worked wonderfully! Very easy and very tasty!

Wild Rice 'n Ham Soup

This soup will stick to your ribs! Mine came out a little bitter...don't know if that is because I used wheat flour? It is very tasty and very easy to make. I used celery as well.
