About this Cook
I love to cook, its my relaxation. I enjoy trying new dishes and putting my spin on them. My extended family loves to call and ask me for recipes to which my husband always replies when it goes over well, "my wife gave her that recipe". I am well known at any gathering as the "cake lady".
My favorite things to cook
Plain ol southern fare would be my favorite to cook.. cornbread hot out of the oven smothered with butter, steaming biscuits with homemade jelly, country fried steak with gravy... they all bring back memories of my childhood and so therefore are very enjoyable and always put a smile on my face.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite tradition is baking my children's birthday cakes every year. No matter how many times they have had it, the girls love the traditional barbie cake and the boys love spiderman.
My cooking triumphs
A wedding reception I was asked to do for a coworker.
My cooking tragedies
none to date according to my hubby

Pecan Pie Cake I
Oh my goodness!!! This cake is delicious! I made it for a family reunion using the butter pecan cake mix in a 9x13 pan. They were scraping the pan clean. The second baking I cooked a full 35 minutes then set it out to cool. It firmed up perfectly. Would not change a single thing. Thanks so much

Jalapeno Cheese Bread
Great recipe!! Read the other reviews, made sure my water was between 105-110... rose beautifully. Increased the jalapenos for extra kick. Baked 2 loaves in a pan and the third loaf on my baking stone. All 3 were perfect. Will use time and time again. Thanks!
