i love to cook and bake! when i was younger i hated it and was awful at it. my family wondered how it was that i could ruin jello from the box! now my family is delighted to see i've cooked something from scratch.
My favorite things to cook
breads, chili, caramel corn, stir frys, my special recipe tacos, anything baked, slow cooker meals.
My favorite family cooking traditions
in our mixed up family there are alot of polish people, so we get it on with pierogies and keilbasa pretty often. and my boys love me to make tacos at least once a week.
My cooking triumphs
bread. i LOVE to make bread. every loaf is better than the last. seeing my 3.5 yo chomp into a nice warm slice of homemade bread with a huge smile on his face, or my bf sampling my different breads with gusto always makes my heart feel happy.
My cooking tragedies
when i was a teenager i made an anniversary dinner for a bf. i wanted to make fried chicken. so i took these huge pieces of on-the-bone chicken breasts and started frying. on high. after throwing them thru some eggs and flour. i burnt the outside so bad trying to get it cooked through so i thru some chili powder on it and told my bf it was cajun style. lmao. the inside wasn't all the way cooked and we never wound up eating any of it. i made boil in the bag rice too so that was our big anniversary dinner.

Soft Garlic Parmesan Breadsticks
i replaced the bread flour with whole wheat flour, and brushed with olive oil instead of melted butter, and skipped the broil step. turned out soft n amazing.

Homemade Black Bean Veggie Burgers
this was a delicious "meat." i used it for burritos instead of burgers because it just wouldn't stay together on the buns for us. but its really really good.
