First and foremost I love Jesus Christ. I accepted him as my personal saviour when I was 15 yrs. old. I am a homemaker. I have three grown children and 5 grandchildren who love to help me in the kitchen.
My favorite things to cook
I mostly make good old comfort food. I like to make breads, soup, slow cooker meals and, of course, make desserts. I also love to can and make jams.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cookies at Christmas. Jam in the summer. Applesauce in the fall. Trying to lose weight in the summer (fresh fruit and veggies time).
My cooking triumphs
Anything the family eats and claims the recipe is a keeper!
My cooking tragedies
When I was 16, I wanted to prepare a special dinner for my honey. I bought a live lobster. It was crawling around the floor and my mom had to put it into the boiling water because I just couldn't! I made baked potatoes but forgot to poke them and they blew up in the oven. I made my honey's favorite ice tea from tea bags and broke the glass pitcher when I poured boiling water into it. Fortunately, this was a trial dinner. Don't remember if we ate it, but I sure remember the disasters.
