About this Cook
i am a young mother of 2 little boys. I love to bake and make all their meals and snacks. The best compliment I can receive is when I cook a meal and every last bite is eaten and I hear "thankyou" from my 3 favorite men!
My favorite things to cook
SWEETS. I love making cookies and cakes and such. I am venturing out more into pies and candy now. Little scary tho!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love my family's Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. We all bring a dish and it's just wonderful. I also enjoy our Sunday afternoon backyard bbq's.
My cooking triumphs
My 4 year old is not that in to my baking. Unless it is a sweet treat he wont eat it. He prefers store bought processed foods. I made a batch of peanut butter granola bars last week and he LOVED them! Victory at last!
My cooking tragedies
I attempted some pumpkin fudge a while back and it never set up. I was so looking forward to it too.

Peach Cobbler VI
This is the first peach cobbler I have ever made and I thought it was fantastic. BUT.. I am not a peach cobbler fan, crazy, because I am from south MS. My husband who LOVES peach cobbler ate it up. The only thing was that he said it was more "bready" than peach cobbler he is used to. And I agreed, it has a bready feel to it. But I guess that is how I like it! Will make again.

Easy Apple Cinnamon Muffins
I haven't tried these yet, I just popped them in the oven... I wanted to add that when you make the topping, I think it would be better to use oats instead of flour bc the flour and butter mixture made it into a paste that you have to spread onto the uncooked muffins which is difficult. I followed the advice of one reviewer and cut the butter down to 1/4 cup and still I had a paste. If I had used oats I would have been able to sprinkle it. Will update after I eat them, lol. ** ok that was a bad idea. The butter melted and a sugary caramel was formed and leaked all over my oven.**

Cream Cheese Cookies II
DELICIOUS!!! I made these as a desert for some company we had over the weekend and they loved them! THe kids loved them, their kids loved them, I got exactly 24 cookies just like the yield suggested. They were fabulous, so soft and chewy. I am making these for Valentines day for my sons class and I am going to use red food coloring in the icing! Will definately keep this recipe, thank you. Oh yea, I used shortening instead of butter. I always get a softer cookie that way.
