I am a wife and mother, 2 sons 23 & 12, 1 daughter 17. I work at the Howard Co. Public Library in Nashville, Arkansas. I have 5 dogs (Baxter, Scooter, Sally, Rascal & Molly) and 1 cat(Edison). I love living in Rural Arkansas where it is quiet and peaceful.
My favorite things to cook
I love baking. Pies, cakes, breads, anything that goes in an oven. The smells that come from there, especially in the fall and winter, are wonderful.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving is the one that really comes to mind. My mother used to make the most wonderful cornbread dressing. It was always something that we all got into. The amount of sage was always a discussion that took up most of the time. My mom can no longer make her dressing. Her mind has left her and she now depends on others to take care of her. I decided to try and figure out how to make her dressing. It took me three years of trial and error but I have finally gotten as close as I am going to get without her recipe. So the tradition of my mommas dressing lives on to this day.
My cooking triumphs
Any triumph is when my family smiles and says "that was so good".
My cooking tragedies
DIVINITY....... I never have been able to cook divinity, unless its supposed to be so runny you have to eat it with a spoon.....ha ha
