About this Cook
My husband and family are very picky eaters, especially when it comes to vegitables. I have to find new ways of getting them to eat vegitables and like it.
My favorite things to cook
Soups, deserts, simple foods slow cooked in the oven.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Burnt food is considered lucky in my family, brought on by my mother. And sticking your fingers into cakes and pies to claim your piece.
My cooking triumphs
getting my husband to eat vegitables, and having him request the same dish at least once a week.
My cooking tragedies
odd tasting desserts or bread due to using sugar substitues leaving a chemical taste.

Cranberry Oatmeal Cookies
Looking for a good fall recipe to give out as a gift to family and friends, and I hit the jackpot. I made these cookies without the raisins, and they are SO GOOD! Simple to make too, which I LOVE. One cookie is not enough to satisfy so make sure you have others to help you eat these wonderful cookies...or you'll eat them all. Next time I'll try it with the raisins.

Champagne Cake I
I really do like this cake. The texture is nice, but I think I'm not much of a champagne person. Next time I'll try adding in some lemon and strawberry extract and see if I like it better. This is a very lovely and easy cake to make.

Applesauce Bars
I made these bars last night and they turned out great! I just thought the icing was too sweet and overpowered the delicate taste of the bars. Next time I will lightly drizzle the icing on or go without. Otherwise this is an excelent recipe. I will definately be making these again.
