About this Cook
I am 52 yrs. old & disabled. My stomach had to be removed in January 2000. I have a feeding tube in, but I do eat small amounts of food by mouth. I try to create simple but delicious meals for myself such as soups. I love cream soups & I make my own stock(chicken). I use it in almost everything-it is so good I sometimes make myself a cup before it has time to get cold. I have not made beef or fish stock yet but I do plan to in the future.
My favorite things to cook
I love soups/cream/broths/chowders. I also like to cook pastas and vegetables.
My cooking triumphs
Learning to make a lot of different soups since I no longer have my stomach. I do not measure anything. I do a little of this and a lot of that.

Poblano Chile Pepper Soup
I have made this soup-it is wonderful!!! BUT NEVER, NEVER RUN YOUR PEPPERS UNDER WATER IF YOU BROIL OR ROAST-YOU WASH AWAY ALL THE SMOKEY FLAVOR. The purpose of broiling or roasting peppers is the smokey flavor.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings
This recipe is great as written, except I added chicken broth instead water. What's up with all the veggies, cumin...I was raised on country cooking & you don't put cumin in chicken n' dumplings-maybe in your chili. But to each his all I guess-must not be from the South.

Tangy Slow Cooker Pork Roast
I have cooked pork roasts in the slow cooker for years. I use coke as the liquid but your recipe is GREAT!!!. For the person who said it was the WORST, don't pay any attention to that. This was great and will definitely be a keeper.
