Jack's Old-Fashioned Beef and Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2009
I made the recipe as stated. This recipe was time consuming, but it was very tasty. Leftovers the next day were even better. I would suggest waiting a day for the full flavor. The cabbage gave it a great taste. I wasn't crazy about the black beans but my husband liked them. I would also suggest waiting until about 15 minutes before the soup is ready to add the macaroni that way it will not get starchy.

Strawberry Pretzel Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2009
I was not real pleased with this one. I followed the recipe as stated and the pretzel bottom stuck to the bottom of the pan. The middle tasted good, but the top was too much like jello and I thought it should have had a softer texture. I will not be making this again. What a waste of ingredients!

Made recipe as stated. It was good but I thought the garlic flavor was a bit overpowering. I will try again and cut the garlic in half.

I made the recipe as written. It was OK but I thought it lacked flavor and it was a little dry too. I'll try it again using some of the suggestions from the other reviewers.

Glazed Lemon Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2009
This recipe was OK. I made it twice following the recipe as directed and I thought it was too dry and not lemony enough. The second time I made it I added an extra 1/2 teaspoon of lemon extract and 1/3 cup of sour cream to try to make it moister. The favor was good but it still was too dry for me. I may try to tweet it a bit more. I did like the fact that it was made without using a box cake mix.

Recipe was OK. Nothing really special, but it was easy and quick. Not company fair but good for a change once in a while.

Best Chicken Ever

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2008
This was good with some minor adjustments. First I crushed the corn flakes in a food processor and it was quick and easy. I added 1 pkg of hidden family ranch to the crushed corn flakes along with 1 teaspoon of garlic salt, onion powder and paprika and the chicken came out very flavorful.

Mint Chocolate Cookie Crunch

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2008
This recipe is quick and easy if you use a food processor to crush the cookies. I used two teaspoons of peppermint extract and the flavor was great. For a bit of a change I rolled some of the cookies in powdered sugar.

Cranberry Macadamia Nut Bark

This was very good! Instead of heating on the stove I used the microwave and this worked out well. I used a little more macadamia nuts (salted). This was an easy recipe than took no time at all to make.

Garlic-Lemon Double Stuffed Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2008
Very tasty recipe! I used "I can't believe it butter" instead of real butter and it came out great. I also did not add the 1/2 teaspoon of garlic salt.I cooked mine for 60 minutes, I think the cooking time depends on the size of the chicken breast you are using.

Chicken Florentine Casserole

This was just OK. In readings the reviews I did as others suggested used frozen spinach instead of canned and skipped step one. I was expecting a better taste considering the ratings. I won't be making this one again.

Baked Spaghetti I

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2008
In reading the other reviews I changed the ingredients as follows: 10oz spaghetti, 11/2cups of grn pepper, 8oz of fresh mushrooms, 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning (instead of oregano), 3 cups of cheese (2 cups of cheddar, 1 cup mozzarella. The recipe didn't state, but I did not drain the diced tomatoes. I cooked the fresh mushrooms during step two. After the noodles were cooked I added 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, 1 beaten egg and 1 teaspoon of steak seasoning and this gave the noodles a little favor kick. I thought this was tasty after a few modifications. Overall, this is a versatile recipe where ingredients can be omitted or added according to personal taste.
