About this Cook
I am a working mother. i have three daughters, only one still at home. I am a registered X-ray technologist and sonographer. In my free time I like to cook for anyone who enjoys eating and doesn't mind trying new recipes. My pet peeve is picky eaters.
My favorite things to cook
Thanksgiving dinner. I like to come up with my own new recipes and cook things like my Creamy rasted garlic, mushroom and long grain rice soup, with bagel chips.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Grandma used to make Wilted lettuce with scrambled pancake batter. It has a sweet vinegar and bacon fat dressing that is steaming hot, poured over leaf lettuce fresh from the garden with green onions chopped up and fresh made bacon bits. It is seved with a side of the scrambled pancake batter. i like to make this for my mother and I when we visit each other. it brings bake a lot of memories about grandma for us. I just wish she could make it. It always tastes better when grandma makes it.
My cooking triumphs
Making my family and friends happy when I feed them.
My cooking tragedies
Thanksgiving dinner, making pumpkin pie. My daughters little friend is eating with us (she is hispanic so they dont celebrate thanksgiving and she eats with us). Rachel is bragging about the pumpkin pie, so I make them some small tart sized pies so they can have an individual pie. They get their pies and make a face, Arena isn't so sure this was worth bragging about. I forgot the sugar.
