Butternut and Apple Harvest Soup

Great "curb appeal" but not much flavor. I added a bit of ginger and cinnamon and it went over well.

Grandma's Gingersnap Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2009
This makes a very pretty cookie with the crackles and the sugar coating. If you want them chewy you have to take them out before they look done, just as they start to crackle. Also good as a crisper cookie. I used butter flavored crisco and they turned out great.

Anna's Amazing Easy Pleasy Meatballs over Buttered Noodles

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2009
Very easy, I didn't do it in my slow cooker, just on the stove top. Family liked it, but it was very salty. Also no need to butter the noodles, the sauce has enough grease in it. I just used a tiny amount of olive oil to keep them from sticking together.

Six Threes Ice Cream

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2009
Wow, so good. I didn't have bananas but I had fresh apricots so I replaced the bananas with 3 cups pureed apricots. The pulpy stuff did gunk up my ice cream maker but it was well worth it.

Easy Cheap and Yummy Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2009
This was surprisingly good. Everyone liked it. I used maple and brown sugar beans and the sweetness was good with the cornbread. Also, I put a layer of cheese between the hotdogs and the bread.

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies III

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2009
These are very rich, but so good. To prevent the crumble problem mentioned, I cooked these only until the very edges turned slightly golden. Once cooled they frosted fine. Also, I used a small cookie scoop and cut the dough in half to make small cookies. One batch of filling is enough for 2 batches of cookies.

Slow Cooker Dump and Go Cheesy Chicken

I wanted this easy recipe to be really good but it was just kinda blah. Needs some flavor. Maybe some blue cheese or something with some kick.

Glazed Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: May 29, 2009
I used a big family size tenderloin and it took forever to cook. The glaze also burned in the pan the first time so I added a little water to the pan the second time I tried this. I love the horseradish and I thought I would hate that part. Make extra sauce for dipping.

Lime Chicken Soft Tacos

Reviewed: May 29, 2009
Love this recipe. I did change the oregano to cilantro and I usually double or triple the marinade so the chicken is extra juicy. Fresh lime tastes way better than the bottled variety but it's still good. Also, this recipe works good with leftover chicken, especially from the grill, chopped small and soaked in the marinade over low heat.

Buttery Corn Bread

Reviewed: May 29, 2009
I made this recipe many times over the long mountain winter. It was a meal in itself. I make it as corn muffins since that's easier to serve to kids. Bake at 400 for 15-17 minutes and use baking cups. Sometime I think I'll try adding creamed corn just for variety.

Asian Orange Chicken

Reviewed: May 29, 2009
Very good recipe. It takes some time but it's worth it. I had to cut back on the red pepper flakes because although my husband and I thought it was great, the kids complained it was "burning their faces off". As suggested by another reviewer, I minimized the stirring of the chicken to keep the coating intact and reduced the amount of cornstarch.

Chocolate Chip Cake Mix Cookies

Who knew you could make cookies so easily. My new favorite quick treat for the kids or if I have to take cookies somewhere. My favorite is a white cake mix with M&Ms. Not the most amazing flavor but 5 stars for simplicity.

Cake Balls

Reviewed: May 17, 2009
I've made this with many different mixes and frostings, changed up dipping chocolates and chocolate toppings. It has never been bad. If you want a smoother texture for the balls put the finished cake and frosting in a mixer while the cake is warm. I also added some mint extract to a devil's food cake and it was good.

Shredded Beef for Tacos

So good and easy. I used beef broth in place of the wine. I actually used this for restaurant style nacho; cheese sauce, green onions, sour cream, tomatoes and avocado. So yummy!

Butterscotch Gingerbread Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2008
My new favorite cookie. For some reason I can't get them to puff up pretty but they still taste so good. Also, if they get too chewy (the next day) you can nuke them for 5-10 seconds and they're like new.
