After running a restaurant for several years, I refound my passion for cooking that had dimmed. I have been experimenting in the kitchen ever since I was 13 and sauteed my first mushroom in a white wine. Cooking shows are my favorites to watch , and Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives is the best!
My favorite things to cook
I am a baker at heart, with a love for cookies and cakes, but give me some fresh veggies and some chicken and I can make any number of dishes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making chicken and noodles at Thanksgiving and Christmas. My Great Grandmother's recipe, handed down to every generation of girls in my family, and we all get together in the kitchen, and one will make the noodles while one is seperating chicken, one is stirring while one is cutting, and now even my niece who is 7 tells us what to do when it comes to this tradition.
My cooking triumphs
Tasting a recipe at a restaurant, I will go home and think about it for days, finally deciding to recreate it, and it comes out even better! Chicken stuffed with feta, roma tomotoes, and fresh basil. YUMMY!
My cooking tragedies
Making a cream sauce that never thickened, beef too tough to eat...burned cookies...it makes me want to cry.
