My sister and I grew up taking turns cooking for the family on a weekly basis, so I've been doing it for a long time. I joined the military and (not as a cook, haha) met my husband there. We currently live in WV and have 4 awesome children. I love family and life in general. God is my number one focal point and I am so thankful for Him.
My favorite things to cook
Casserole, desert, chicken
My favorite family cooking traditions
We don't have any. We just like to cook.
My cooking triumphs
I made that microwave peanut brittle really awesome the first time. I tried that recipe another 8 times before I got it right again. I figured out what I was doing wrong and have been able to make it great since. My step-mom said my peanut brittle was better than any store bought she has ever had. Wahoo!! Triumph at last!
My cooking tragedies
When I was first cooking for my family as a teen, It was my turn to make dinner and so I decided we were going to have mashed potatoes and rice with gravy. Well I made a TON of this stuff and my dad made a joke that we had enough to fill all the pot holes down our street. I was kind of embarrassed, but it was really funny. I had to learn that you don't serve rice and mashed potatoes together.
