I married the most amazing man alive 2 years ago (sorry ladies, I found the best one). We are currently living in a tiny 5th wheel trailer until he finishes school. That means there is very little room to experiment with great recipes. None-the-less I love to cook. When I'm not cooking I enjoy cleaning the house, playing with our puppy Jolene, handling our finances, reading, driving through the nearby national forest, and many other things as well.
My favorite things to cook
I have several classic recipes that never fail... meatloaf, the easiest chili, beef stroganoff, shepherd's pie, chicken stir fry, chicken fried steak and chicken spaghetti. And I recently mastered a stuffed flounder. I also enjoy baking, my favorite dessert recipe is a chocolate trifle which is absolutely decadant, and of course there are others such as banana nut bread, and pumpkin pie.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I wish I could cook like my grandmother and aunts. I'm learning more and more everyday though. I am czech so I've got a lot of "good-cook" gene's and hopefully the more I practice the better I'll get.
My cooking triumphs
Every time I try something new and it turns out good tasting I consider it a triumph. My most recent one is stuffed whole flounder.
My cooking tragedies
Oh boy, where to begin. I seem to have the most difficult time remembering to put the eggs in the recipe. I've forgotten on everything from cakes to meatloaf. Other than that I've dealt with the normal over-cooking, under-cooking, and the inevitable flat out bad recipe.
