About this Cook
recently joined allrecipes and I love it! I got married this year and I'm learning to cook for 2 very different tastes. Its fun finding meals we both like.
My favorite things to cook
in the past couple years starting to try more baking. I love to cook dinner the most. I can stir fry anything! I also love to check out recipes and adapt them to my tastes, usually HOT! I love anything spicy. I can make awesome brownies which are great anytime. Over the years at my job I've participated in tons of potlucks and I was always trying to find new and exotic recipes to bring. I've learned a lot from that.
My favorite family cooking traditions
learning how to make my mom's thanksgiving stuffing the past couple years. Maybe tamales at christmas time and menudo at new years. For me and my husband we are trying to have dinner together. Usually only one of us can cook at a time, but we are both adventurous and love to try anything new.I guess for our tradition it would be using a slow cooker and experimenting with soups, roasts and anything we can find in the fridge.
My cooking triumphs
sometimes my best dishes are the one's I've spent the least time on. Last winter I found an easy dessert that everyone who tasted it raved over. Its in allrecipes, chocolate eclair cake. I also like to make brownies from the box and people love those more than cookies baked from scratch.
My cooking tragedies
my only tragedies have happened when I was trying a little too hard. I've learned that if you enjoy cooking and make it fun, whatever you create will be wonderful.

Zippy Summer Shrimp
fast and easy. I used a lot less lemon juice than the recipe asked for, probably about 4 Tablespoons or so. I also added a lot more salt than I usually use. When the lemon juice is added to the butter and oil it makes a very nice sauce. I served over steamed rice with broccoli and poured the sauce over all. We also ate thai hot chili garlic sauce with it. A very adaptable recipe I'll use again

Easy Alfredo Sauce I
made this last night at the suggestion of a co-worker and was going to post it. The only difference is I used 2 sticks of butter(can never have too much butter), and added pepper. The sauce was so yummy and super easy! we drenched grilled chicken breasts, fettucine, and steamed broccoli and cauliflower with it for a 30 minute meal that was fabulous!

Pumpkin Bread
I've been baking this recipe for 3+ years but realized I never added my rating. I do use only 2 cups sugar, omit cloves, and add 1 tsp ground ginger. If you love pumpkin bread without nuts this one is a hit.
