About this Cook
Mother of 3 and foodie from way back, I like quick fixes that satisfy my eclectic tastes, get the kids to eat nutritiously and allow me to spend quality time with the family and study cuisine in all its intricacies.
My favorite things to cook
It's whatever my most recent successful inspiration is that disappeared off plates and left us full without a feeling of regret.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Pumpkin pies. Meat loaf. My grandfather teaching me how to make gravy. :D
My cooking triumphs
I like taking other recipes I find (usually locating by an ingredient I grabbed at the store that I hadn't had in a while) and merging them with others- ignoring preset measurements and making them my own.
My cooking tragedies
12 years old. Mac N Cheese soup. P.S. Drain the water.

Spanish-Style Chicken and Sausage
Good idea in theory. In practice I felt some changes would better suite my family. We went more for a southwest flare. I substitute Jalapeno Sausage for the SI. Substitute sweet corn for the peas. Add a little cilantro and paprika instead of thyme. I also highly recommend using stock instead of bullion. A little splash of pepper jack or cheddar when it hits the table made the kids excited.
