Waiting to walk down the aisle on my wedding day
About this Cook
I married my high school sweetheart in the summer of 2007. We moved into our first house September of 08 and it's been so fun! I am a social worker working with parents and babies birth to age three. My husband and I are part of a church in Middletown, Ohio called The Oaks Community Church.
My favorite things to cook
I absolutely love to bake. Cookies, brownies, breads, cupcakes - you name it, I love it.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom and I always baked growing up - we made chocolate chip cookies like it was going out of style:) i definitely got my love of baking from her.
My cooking triumphs
The first meal I made for my husband when he said - wow, this is really good:) Also, I've been throwing more "dinner parties" of 6-10 people... when I can pull off a yummy successful dinner where I am able to be with my guests and non-stressed - thats definitely a triumph in my world:)
My cooking tragedies
Most of my first year of marriage... The first meal I made for my husband after our honeymoon, I tried to "throw together a casserole." I thought it was done and served it and the rice was still hard and uncooked. yuck!

Apple Crisp II
good! cut recipe in half and made in 8x8 pan (used about 1 1/2 times the amount of topping, didn't melt butter, just cut in). The flavor was good and tasted yummy served warm with vanilla ice cream. Used golden delicious and i think next time i would use a more sour apple like granny smith. I rated it a 3 only because i think it was missing something that gave it that extra punch... more spices maybe? or maybe just the more sour apples will do?

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies III
yum! i followed Crystal's changes and this cookie was easy and tasty. I stored them in the refrigerator, but they were definitely best warm. Next time would serve them right out of the oven
