Guacamole

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2009
This was great. I made it for a get together and I got good reviews. I used garlic powder instead of minced and I just kindof started adding more garlic and cayenne to a preferred taste. No more buying guacamole from a tub this is our new go to for guacamole!

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2009
these muffins were very delicious. They were my first batch of blueberry muffins that i have made from scratch and they turned out great. The only change that I made was using brown sugar instead of white for the topping as others suggested. It was sweet and I actually liked it like that so it is a keeper for me. Thanks!

Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2009
I would rate these a 10 if I could these were awesome!!! I doubled the recipe and I used Frank's sauce like others stated. IT IS AMAZING! I couldn't stop eating them and any leftovers were eaten by my husband before I got a chance to put them up. If you are looking for a hot wing recipe this is it. Next time I will try chicken strips and make it spicier to see how they turn out but this is defiletely a keeper!!

Original Nestle® Toll House® Peanut Butter & Milk Chocolate Morsel Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2009
I m.ade the recipe exactly like it told me to but my first batch was very flat and runny so I added more flour and i turned my oven down to 325 degrees. The cookies did take longer to bake but they were the right kind of chewy cookies you would love. Definitely the perfect cookie for the peanut butter chocolate fans!! A big hit in our house

Nacho Cheese Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2009
This recipe is a keeper. I made it like it told me to but I decided to do half american and half sharp cheddar. WOW! Everyone in my family loved it. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it got really thick while standing. I will have to add more milk to the sauce. You must at least try it if you are looking for a nacho sauce. =)

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2008
Great recipe. We love roasts in this house and I got a crock pot for christmas and I decided to make this for Christmas dinner. I used a rump roast floured and browned. While browning the roast I mixed 2 cans cream of mushroom and one packet beefy onion soup and 1 1/2 cups beef broth. When I placed the roast in the pot I fliped the roast completely around to cover the roast with the juices. cooked on high for 3 hours then on low for 2. Turned out delicious. the gravy was thin and runny so I added some flour. Love this recipe next time I will add carrots and potatoes to it. Definitely a keeper in this house. Not very hard at all for a first timmer with crock pots! = )

Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2008
I was looking for a icing recipe and when I came across this one I decided to try it. I made cookies from this site also (best rolled sugar cookies) when I made the cookies they were bland but when my kids decorated the cookies with this icing they turned out awesome. Purfect blend and the almond really stands out. I did have to add a little bit more milk because it was too thick. If I make any type of sugar cookies again next year I will definitely use this again.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2008
they were ok I made it exactly like it said. These cookies are definitely for decorating though because they are bland without icing. I got a recipe sugar cookie icing from this site and it had almond extract. my kids decorated the cookies and after they dried they were delicious! I might use this again next year for christmas.

Egg and Sausage Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2008
After reading a lot of reviews I had high hopes for this recipe.I made it this morning while the kids were opening presents. I followed some of the reviewers suggestions but it took about an hour to cook and it was nearly burnt on top and not to mention the dough was burnt also. Nobody ate it. Very dissapointing. Will be deleting from recipe box.

Fried Okra

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2008
this was the best! I used frozen okra thawed and I also used an egg/milk mixture let the okra sit for a while in the egg like it says. I added more salt then what it said to use and i also added some season salt to my cornmeal/flour mixture because it was to bland for me. After all the cooking was done the okra didn't last long. will definitely be keeping this in my recipe box and making again! thanks

Fried Pork Chop

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2008
was good. I used a deep fryer and seasoned the pork chops with seasoned salt let the pork chops rest while i prepared the milk/egg mixture. I added garlic powder, salt, pepper to the flour. Dipped the pork chop lightly in flour then in egg and back in the flour. Let them rest in the fridge for 30 minutes and then fried them. Always a big hit in the family.

Aunt Teen's Creamy Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2008
This was my first try making fudge, I am not a big fan of fudge but i thought i would give it as a holiday gift to a friend. I was scared to death i was going to mess it up because i didn't have a thermometer. They turned out great! I cooked the marshmellow mixture on low until well blended and cooked it for 7 minutes on medium. I read some reviews and changed a couple of things. I used 1 1/4 cup sugat and only used 1 tablespoon butter. in the madness of trying not to mess up the recipe I forgot the salt and it still tasted great. What leftover fudge was not gifted is gone and they are wanting more. thanks 4 a great recipe

Bacon Cheese Fries

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2008
These were awesome! I used seasoned french fries and sprinkled a little bit of season salt on it. I fried the fries and placed them in the oven until the cheese melted. My entire family loved it. Of course I made to much and had to throw some away. That was the hardest part for me (I at to much hope it doesn't go to my thighs ;-D ). I also left out the onions. And they turned out great. This is a keeper!!!! Thanks

Sausage Stuffed Jalapenos

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2008
Mmmm... they were good. I halved the recipe and made it for a snack for me and my husband and they were good. I could't help but wrap bacon around them after putting the mixture on the pepper (i have always had bacon with stuffed jalapenos. the only bad thing about that is they were not hot enough. My husband suggested putting in a few seeds in the mixture. I thought about making these for a christmas gathering we are having, I think I will add a few seeds in and see how they turn out.

Banana Muffins II

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2008
It was good. Very moist. I followes some of the reviews and added 1tsp vanilla, 1tsp cinnamon, and 1/4 tsp nutmeg. I did forget to add salt (oops) and it still turned out good. I made 1/2 the recipe with nuts and without nuts (my husband doesn't like nuts in his bread) they were both good either way. thanks

Caramel Pecan Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2008
The recipe was great with my alterations. I ended up using 28 caramel pieces and substituted water for milk (I was running low) I also used 2 eggs instead of one. And I used 1 1/2 cups pecans. I did have to leave the pie in the oven longer until it stopped jiggling and it turned out dangerously perfect (I had two slices in one day and I made it for dinner desert) my family loved it! I would give it 5 stars if I followed the directions the way they were wrote down. But I will definitely be making this again. Thanks

Delightful Apple Spice Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2008
I thought these were good. I used butter and I also halved the sugar half white half brown. I didn't have any allspice so I used 1/2 tsp nutmeg. Another thing I did to this recipe was add cinnamon to the tops of the muffin before I baked them. My kids liked them so that is an A+ for me. They made 15 regular muffins. Will be making again, it was so easy to make. Thanks

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2008
It was alright maybe it was the way I made them. They were edible but the crumb part didn't look or taste so good. I think that if I decide to make them again I will follow some of the reviewers advice. *UPDATE* Ok so I decided to make it again and it was a lot better. I added 3/4 tsp cinnamon and 1 tsp vanilla to the batter. And I upped the cinnamon to the topping to 1/2 tsp. I also cut the butter into pieces before stirring it around and I put the topping on before I baked the muffins, before I added it 5 minutes before they were done. MAJOR difference. My husband liked it so that says a lot compared to before. I upped it one star because of the difference from before. Hope this helped.
