About this Cook
I am half Mexican and half Italian, need I say more? I love all varieties of food. I have an obsession with cookbooks, but I never follow the recipes I always tend to put my own twist to them.
My favorite things to cook
I have no favorites, I love main dishes, desserts, snacks, you name it!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Being a half breed, we a had mixed table, example for Thanksgiving we would have Turkey ,Ham, Raviolis and tamales all on the table.
My cooking triumphs
Triumphs??? I take pride on how my honey responds to his meals, and on the jealousy of his co-workers when they see his lunches I pack for him.
My cooking tragedies
The very first cake I made I baked in one 8inch round cake pan. The word VOLCANO comes to mind there was cake batter everywhere. I also learned quickly, that you can not boil eggs in the microwave!!!!!!!

Brandied Candied Sweet Potatoes
I made these along with my traditional candied yams, they were DELISH. I actually made them wednesday night and put them in an 8x8 pan and baked them about 20 prior to turkey time and they caramelized a bit more.

Grandpa's Popcorn Balls
I couldn't believe how easy and fun these were to make. I think these may become a tradition with my family. The kids really enjoyed making and shaping the balls. I put a little twist to them, I split the popcorn and did half with honey roasted peanuts.
