I love hearing the "mmmm" sounds from someone eating something I've made. My grandmother was an amazing cook and my mom is an amazing cook. Hopefully, I've followed in their footsteps.
My favorite things to cook
-Comfort foods that trigger wonderful childhood memories.
-Roasted garlic on baguettes--a simple favorite at my house, I can never make
enough.
-White Bread Plus from the Joy of Cooking
-Chili Verde, Pasole, Green Curry--one pot meals are awesome
My favorite family cooking traditions
My grandfather would get up at the butt-crack of dawn to start his spaghetti sauce. I remember seeing tomatoes, tomato paste, tons of garlic, oregano, basil, ground round, oxtail, whole pepperoni. It would simmer all day. I haven't yet perfected grandpa's but I'll get there.
My cooking triumphs
-YEAST!!!
-Grilling, yes, I can grill a steak better than my husband.
-My first Thanksgiving Dinner without mom's help
My cooking tragedies
