About this Cook
After graduating college in 2010 I have gotten to know my kitchen very well. I am always looking for something new to cook, or even make an old favorite even better. My family looks forward to Tuesday nights where I cook for them. I am also hoping to open up a sports bar in the future, so I always try to improve classics.
My favorite things to cook
I love finding new ways to cook chicken, seeing as I don't eat red meat very often. When I need comfort food I tend to go right for the frying pan, and make a gourmet grilled cheese. Or for special occasion cheesecake is always something fun to cook.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every year for Christmas we have a family Bake Off where we cook some Italian Recipes past down from generation to generation. We also bake some mint brownies, gingerbread and all the holiday goodies!
My cooking triumphs
According to my family the like my: Enchiladas, Chilli (both traditional and white), french dips, and most recently grilled pizzas. For dessert they love any holiday treat I whip up like pumpkin pop-tarts, or apple crisp using my grandma's home grown apples.
My cooking tragedies
I am horrible at cooking rice. I DREAD it. Somehow I always burn it.

Cake Balls
I made these this weekend for my dads birthday and there were the party favorite. However, I had a bit of trouble with the cake.I let it cool, and added the frosting but they crumble turning quickly into mush. However, I put the batter in the freezer over night and then next morning dipped them and chocolate and it worked so well! I just scooped and hand rolled them and the process was made simple! Also, the night I stuck my mix into the freezer I was in panic and made another batch that was yellow cake and chocolate frosting (the previous being strawberry and cream cheese frosting). I let the yellow cool over night but had a hard time getting them to stay on the stick, so I plopped them in the freezer and took out the strawberry. Freezing them seemed to help a lot! And then after they were all dipped I put them in the fridge and they came put perfectly!
