About this Cook
I'm happily (most of the time!) married & have 2 boys ages 8 & 11. My younger one loves to cook,& says he wants to be a chef when he grows up! I love to cook, hate to clean of coarse! I'm a home mom now, but am a former flight attendant, & certified dental assistant. I LOVE to feed people, & see them enjoying the food.....sooo rewarding!! I've got Italian heritage so I guess that's where I get it!!
My favorite things to cook
Casseroles, comfort food. I'm also pretty good on the grill, & do a lot of that in the summer. My husband is terrible on the grill,so I take pride in it!! My baking skills are limited to simple cookies & box cakes! I would love to improve in that area. I LOVE Indian food, but have yet to cook anything close to what I get out!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My paternal grandma was german, & she made delicious potatoe dumplings she called "glace balls". She would serve them on special occasions, w/ pork roast & sauerkraut. My maternal great-grandma was Italian, & made a delicious meat sauce, My mom can do it, but I have yet to get it right!! It's delicious!!
My cooking triumphs
Hmmm.... doing my grandamas potatoe dumplings, my moms cabbage rolls, chicken piccata, & anything that my family says mmmm to, no matter how simple. I want my boys to remember my cooking fondly as my husband & I remember our moms.
My cooking tragedies
I just can't make meatballs no matter what!!! I can make meatloaf though. I should just bake those dumb meatballs!! For now ,frozen meatballs are better than anything I can produce!

Better than Sex Cake IV
This cake was absolutely delicious!! The only changes I made was I used 1c sugar, used 1 small pkg of french vanilla pudding w/ a pkg of cream cheese added to it. Also used extra creamy cool whip on top. The toasted coconut & pecans are a must! Also, definately make it the day before! Yummy!!

Beer Margaritas
Loved these!! Really good w/ the Miller Chill! My only advice is to make sure you have extra on hand to make more!:)

Hot Fudge Cake
We loved the flavor of this cake, but there was WAY too much sauce for out taste. I added a pinch of cinnamon to the cake mix, & coffee for the liquid. Flavor was great , but next time I'll cut back on the amount of sauce ingredients, & also use less liquid so it will be thicker. Don't even think about serving this w/out vanilla ice cream!
