I come from a very long line of country cooks, and i am just now coming into my own as a good cook. For the longest time my mother hosted good old fashioned southern Sunday dinners for 10 people at a time, but her kitchen is being remodeled for going on 2+ years, so now as the only daughter, the spatula has passed to me. And since my daughter was born, i have been gathering recipes from all over, family, magazines, ect. so i can put together a recipe book for her, when i pass the spatula to her.
My favorite things to cook
Pot Roast, Sauerkraut and Kielbasa, Mashed potatoes at every meal (despite the diabetes that runs rampant in our family), and any kind of casserole, rubbing and roasting any kind of meat.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Sunday dinners with the Family (big affairs), Kielbasa and Sauerkraut on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter, cooking with my mom.
My cooking triumphs
Thanksgiving Dinner 2007-my first Thanksgiving that I cooked without my mom's help.
My cooking tragedies
Dried out pork roast, raw ground beef in the green peppers cooked in a slow cooker turned to the "warm" setting for 6 hrs in my early days
