About this Cook
i am an exchange student studying in Hungary
My favorite things to cook
cookies are the best, along with biscotti I also love to make stirfries because you can mix the flavour so much baking and decorating cakes is always really fun too i just love making breakfast too. . its always so delicious and a great start to the day
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every christmas my family and i drink egg nog and make gingerbread cookies, and put out the left overs for santa. Christmas Eve we eat a ham, and actual christmas dinner we have a huge turkey. Mashed potatoes with TONS of garlic, roasted yams, steamed corn, carrots and brocolli are a great side dish. Ever since I was little my sister an I have baked cookies together. When I was little my mom taught me how to make taboulli, and the recipe we used is still, and always will be, the best ive ever tasted.
My cooking triumphs
I baked some basic peanut butter cookies and brought them to an exchange meeting and they were devoured. Some people told me to become a baker. Not long back I also made some Canadian dishes for my family here and they absolutely loved it.
My cooking tragedies
The flour in Hungary is so messed up! It doesnt rise right, so everytime i try to bake cookies or pancakes they come out really chewy. All, but two attempts, have been tragedies so far

Homemade Fresh Pumpkin Pie
im on an exchange in hungary right now, and I made this pie today for my family for christmas, and it was such a hit. 2 of my sisters went to america and had pumpkin pie there, and they both said that my pie was far better. I made one medium sized pie and 24 minis in muffin pans. Oh, I used a different crust recipe, but it was the filling that had me at hello. Im not one for sweets, so i nearly doubled the spices and it was terrific.

Blueberry Walnut Bread
i made this for my family today and it was a hit! I didnt want to bring out the bread machine though because I was in such a rush, so I just baked it in the oven for 50 minutes on 175. It turned out great, even though the blueberries bled a lot into the batter, you could hardly tell in the final product. It was moist, sweet (but not too sweet) and nutty all at the same time
