About this Cook
Greets! I am a stay at home mom who loves to cook and entertain. My hobbies are varried and include medieval re enactment, so i really enjoy cooking from pre 17th century sources.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake. Doesn't matter if it is a desert, bread, meat or veggie. I love to experiment with international foods as well. Things from all over the world.
My favorite family cooking traditions
There aren't many "traditions" in my family. so in a way i enjoy creating them. Thanksgiving is the biggest cooking holliday for me so i guess my biggest tradition would be making as good as my grandmother used to make it.
My cooking triumphs
Here i have had too many to enumerate on. My most recent was turning 20 pounds of green tomatoes from the garden into salsa verde.
My cooking tragedies
Its been since april since my last tragedy. It was a dish from the 14th or 15th century that sounded good but turned out horrid and gray!

Sweet Potato-Turkey Meatloaf
i give it 4 because 3 1/2 is not allowed.. the flavor is great! i took advice and used only the BBQ sauce in the mix and put the ketchup on top. i also tried to "dry" it some by using ground up saltines. 1 1/2 cups of them. while it was not wet it was sticky. maybe letting it cool before cutting would help. next time i may try making it in the am and re heating it at night to see if that helps with the structure.
