I work in our home-office for a family-business of 10+ years. Unfortunately, we have no children, but we do have two labs (a yellow and a black) that give us much joy and aggravation; but we wouldn't have it any other way.
My favorite things to cook
Pasta, pasta, pasta!!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My Grandmother's Potato-Bread Filling (Pennsylvania Dutch, so you know it's full of carbs and fat!)that she would make for every holiday. My brothers, sister and I are in an unofficial competition to see which one can make the best duplication of her original recipe. I actually prefer to "dress" it up a bit with fresh herbs or whole-grain bread instead of white.
My cooking triumphs
Just being able to prepare an entire Thanksgiving dinner, even if everything does not come out hot at the same time. Thank goodness for microwaves!
My cooking tragedies
Over broiling and/or roasting everything, from garlic bread to a London Broil. I get distracted and forget all about the food in the oven until it's too late to salvage it.
