About this Cook
I've been cooking since I was a child. I can remember my mom putting a chair up against the stove so I could stand on it to make my scrambled eggs in the morning. I'm most happy in the kitchen cooking and listening to my music....loud! I love making something and watching people's reactions. If I don't get told, wow this is sooooo good! Then I don't think it's worth making again
My favorite things to cook
well I'm hispanic so my favorite dishes are usually mexican ones. Albondigas, chicken mole', tacos, burritos, I love experimenting with different ways to make nachos. And I love baking desserts...cookies, bread, cake....
My favorite family cooking traditions
I remember my mom and grandmother making tamales and homemade tortillas. Those are some of the traditions I feel my family is losing and I would love to get back to. I do still make frijoles de la oya once in awhile, like grandma taught me.
My cooking triumphs
I followed the best ever banana bread recipe from here and can't get over the raves I've been receiving from family, friends and coworkers. I love it!
My cooking tragedies
I know I have some but can't remember at this time. Maybe that's a good thing!

Best Ever Banana Bread
My family, friends and coworkers are raving about this banana nut bread! My husband doesn't like nuts so I omit them for him but I make sure to add them for everyone else. Even my picky 2 year old niece told my sister " I want more mama!" Great job guys, thanks!
