I am a single mother of 12 year old twins. My daughter and son both love to bake holiday goodies with me. They are always in the kitchen helping me cook weither baking or just cooking dinner. We love having small dinner parties, but haven't been able to do it for a while as we just moved to a smaller place with not really enough room to have guests. Someday we will be able to have our dinner parties again. We usually make goodie boxes for christmas presents for family and friends every year. Been our own family tradition sence they were little kidz. My favorite things to cook
Like I said earlier we love making goodies, candies, cookies, breads, pies. This year I tought them how to make freezer jams. We had a great time. I also like making soups from scratch. Nothing better on a cold day then homemade soup.
My favorite family cooking traditions
When I was little my mother and I use to make cookies for christmas which was fun, but sence I have children know I still bake with mom but then my kids and I go all crazy on baking at christmas time. This year we will be baking some treats for the kids that go to the YMCA here in town.
My cooking triumphs
Well every year I would say I get better and better but I feel when I learned to bake with Spenda so my best friends husband could enjoy treats at the holidays was the best feeling.
My cooking tragedies
Along my way in cooking and baking I have learned a few tricks to getting things done. Doing all my prep work the night before, how to get an onion ready so you can cut it with out crying, little things you just stumble across as you go. This christmas I had a fudge disaster for the first time. I have never had a problem with it but it just didn't want to harden up. Hope next christmas is better.
