Italian Tomato Pasta Salad
About this Cook
I am a marine wife. We were married on November 5, 2007. We have a beautiful 8 month old little girl named Marilynn. My favorite foods are sushi, gumbo, and hmmmm....basically anything cajun. :P
My favorite things to cook
chicken, because it's so versatile. I also love cooking gumbo which is good because I love it! I love trying new recipes and testing them out on my poor husband. lol
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite time is Christmas and Thanksgiving. I love to help my grandmother with everything for those holidays. Even if we do have to make a pie for everyone. haha. I also love making great picnic/cook-out food like potato salad with my mom.
My cooking triumphs
I successfully made a German Chocolate cake for my husband's 20th birthday. Does that count? I also made bacon for breakfast for the very first time this morning! woot.
My cooking tragedies
lemon-pepper chicken...just did not work. I burnt it and put too much seasoning on it...whoops. However, my husband is sweet and tells me everything I cook is good.

Homemade Black Bean Veggie Burgers
This is a great recipe. My husband is a major meat-eater and he still loves them. He actually requests these. We make it a little different. Instead of using hot sauce, we use Worchestershire sauce and it comes out fabulous. It was a little strong for me this time...but I'm pretty sure that's because my husband was "helping" me and added more sauce after I had already put extra in twice. lol. Anyway, these are amazing and good for you...definitely 5 stars!

French Toast II
This was very quick and easy. I admit that the bread did get soggy if you let it saturate but if you toast it in the toaster first then just dip it like twice into the mixture it comes out perfect. I know toasting it first sounds weird but it works...just put it on the lowest toaster setting so you don't actually cook it. lol. Other than that, we all loved the flavor, including my picky husband and 15 month old.

Salsafied Chicken and Rice
This was so good. It seems more like a side item than a main dish though. I was searching for main dishes when I found this. Oh well. It was ALL gone in the first round. :)
