My hubby and I are empty nesters and brought up 4 sons-lots of cooking in the good old days. Now we like to entertain our friends and family on our new deck in the fine weather and in our new kitchen in the cooler times. I really like to cook outdoors BBQing is a must in this household. Also in the cooler weather lots of soups, Italian foods, Chili and the old stand by slow cooker foods. Every Thanksgiving I make my Mother's grapenut custard pudding for dessert. Also, I have to make make one for each of our children to take home with them. It's their all time favorite. I finally have learned how to make a flaky pie crust. That's after many yrs of cooking.
