Single mom of 3 teenagers, and I still have my sanity! I love making soups, and baking.. My mom was the major cook in our family for all of the holidays, but since her passing last year (Sept.2, 2008), I've had to start anew... Making Thanksgiving dinner last year completely unaided for 35 or more teenagers! (Had lots of stragglers in and out in addition to the 35). Was our first "holiday" without my mom and everyone in the family decided to do their own thing, so I had the bright idea of having my kids invite their friends over for dinner, not quite expecting a mob scene! Was shocked at the number of families who really don't celebrate the holidays for one reason or another..most of them horrific (alcoholism, drug abuse, etc.)but was glad to give these kids a home cooked meal.. hmm.. none yet, but I'm sure that will change! Lol..
